  • Council tax- bailiff bill in wrong name

Hi, I have just had a bailiff visit for a council tax debt,
he shouted me a liability order which had spelt min and my husbands surname wrong. He said it doesn’t matter, however I said that is t us and I refuse to pay. He said he will be returning later to remove goods. My thinking is they have to return the debt to the council as my name is incorrect? What can I do? Thanks in advance

What is the difference? For example if addressed to Brown instead of Browne then that would be excused but if addressed to Smith instead of Jones then that is a different matter.
