  • Entry 1 of the charge register

My late father's property has a entry 1 of the charge register placed against it, to ensure all inheritance tax has been paid. The inheritance tax was zero and probate was issued in January. To enable this removal a certificate by the Commisioner in form 61 combined with Inheritance tax office form 31 is required.

My conveyancer has never heard of this and HMRC have offered different ways to prove this but have all been rejected by land registry who say these forms are the only option they will accept.

I need to know what department of HMRC will issue this. I have spent hours on the phone to them and no-one seems to know.

Any help in gaining these appriated

You could try getting your MP involved, to knock a few heads together.
