  • Land Registry

    Hi
Anyone got any practical experience of dealing with the land registry? I have two adjacent properties and I want to change the title to include a single garage moved from one to the other. No other parties would be involved. A call this afternoon to customer services said that this could take 18 months to two years before anyone even looks at it but it would be possible to "expediate" it to within 10 days as there was a financial transaction involved. However they would still not commit to how long the formal changing of the deeds would take. I want to sell the property asap, dont really want to have to put the boundaries back to where they originally were.

    Thanks

One way might be to sell (a) the property that does not have the garage and (b) the garage as a part only of the property in the other title. Your solicitor can advise whether this may be a quicker way to achieve your objectives.

atticus I have been advised by a practicing conveyancing solicitor that itsca straightforward 'sale of part' and will involve a surveyor drawing up a landregistry complient new boundary plan which will be used in the sale process and then filed at the LR after. Does that make sense?

        That is what I suggested!
