Equity release DIY style.

Is it possible to obtain a lifetime mortgage without going through a company like Age Partnership? As far as I can see they will charge me Ł1800 for basically putting me in touch with a lender.There are several law firms that offer conveyancing for equity release so can I just employ one of these and save myself any extra expense? Thankyou.

You can only get a lifetime mortgage through a qualified equity release adviser
