  • Title deed restriction

Hi all. I have a restriction on my title deed saying that I need to obtain a 'certificate of compliance' from a company every time I want to remortgage. Personally I think this is an extortionate thing to do and is costing me £175 (for the certificate which last time wasn't even personalised and was literally a letter headed paper saying that I had told them of the change) and then the solicitors £180 to ask them for it.

is there any way to contest this or get it removed from the deed? Surely this is just a way for them to extort money from us at a time when we are trying to save.
