  • house sale issues after completion

    Hello

I sold my house a weeks ago, I am in Scotland. In the official offer it was noted i was to include white goods in the sale. I had not been informed of this or not been sent the official offer paperwork.

I tool my free standing washing machine to my new property. The sellers were very unhappy, assuming this was my fault and I had missed something In the small print so I offered some money. The buyer declined this money and are asking me for more or they will take me to court.

The sum they are asking for is unreasonable in my opinion and I have had a lot of hassle from them. Anyway I have asked my solicitor why this was not passed on and was told it was in the offer. I have been through all my emails and nothing states about white goods.

I noted my solicitor sent me a copy of the qualified acceptance that makes reference to clause 4 of the standard scottish clauses. Stating "not deemed to include any appliances in the price. Whilst the sellers believe them to be in good working condition commensurate with their age"

    Anyway I questions are
1 should the request of white good being included in sale not have been included in the qualified acceptance?
2 Should I have received the official offer in writing?

My solicitor has not offered much assistance to me which makes me think perhaps they have missed something and just want me to pay the amount. I feel however I have payed them to be the middle man and guide me so if they have not passed something on I would like to know.
