I had scaffolding put on my outhouse from the local council without my permission and they have made more damage to it as it was in poor condition with bricks being weathered. They are refusing to compensate me for the damage they caused and stress with builders being so noisy. What do I do?

Have you informed them of the damage? If you have what reason have they given for not taking responsibility

          Re: scaffolding.

Is the outhouse owned by you,or is it rented?
It is the owner of the building who needs it to be repaired.
If you are renting it, and your belongings inside are damaged by eg rain because of damage to he building, the council would be responsible.

Regarding the erection of scaffolding, the council are guilty of trespass against you as the occupier (unless your property is rented from the council and the tenancy contains a waiver allowing them the necessary access.
