Scaffolding and Sky Dish

My neighbour has erected scaffolding as part of his project to repair his roof. It has blocked my Sky dish so that I am unable to receive tv programmes. Do I have any legal remedies to enforce removal or re-siting of the offending scaffolding?

Hi and welcome to Legal Beagles,
Have you tried talking to your neighbour asking maybe if he could alter the scaffolding a tad so not to block your dish. Also is it be possible the dish was knocked while he was erecting the scaffold that may mean the dish just needs a little adjustment.
Give sky a ring see if they can help to reset your dish and if there was a charge for this maybe your neighbour would pay.
Things like this can easily start world war 3 with neighbours and am sure it would be easier than looking for legal solutions right away.

I don't think there is a legal route tbh and if there were by the time it was in progress the scaffold would probably be down.

It's only relatively recently that the "right to light" was clarified. I know of no equivalent "right to a sky signal".

Have you considered moving the dish? Is that an option open to you?

I don't think there is a legal route for you to take since I doubt you can quantify the damages that are being inflicted on you as a result of having no sky......unless of course you are being forced to talk to the missus more
