  • Is my daughter paying too much rent?

My daughter is a single parent and rents a 3 bedroomed house via a housing association (but private sector of it) and I found out the other day from her that she's paying £590 a month for her rent. I told her that it sounds an awful lot. Does it sound right to anyone out there or should I be making some enquiries on her behalf?

It really depends on what part of he country she is in (as the rents vary massively). Maybe you could look in estate agents etc... to get an idea of the rental market in her area??

It's in Leicestershire and thanks I will take your advice and look around at what Lettings Agencies charge in her area.

You can also get a rough idea from the Local Housing Allowance,http://lha-direct.voa.gov.uk/search.aspx that will show what the council see as acceptable?

The rent depends upon the what facilities they provide with the apartment and the location where it is.
