I wonder if anyone can help with this query. I have been a tenant in my property since 1992 with the exception of a year in 2009-10 when I did a mutual exchange but neither of us were happy so we swapped back. I had the preserved right to buy following a stock transfer prior to the exchange. At the time I was mis-informed by the new landlord that I would keep my PRTB and after discussion with both landlords I was informed the RTB stays with the tenancies as when there is a mutual exchange all aspects of the tenancy transfer to the new tenant. I did confirm with my current landlord when we decided to mutually exchange back that I would get back the PRTB along with the other tenancy aspects (even the negative ones like damage done to the worktop!) I am now in a position of being able to apply for the RTB but am being told I cannot as I moved to another landlord. Can anyone advise the position please? many thanks
