Repossession proceedings after breach of contract by lender

if i am being taken to court by a company for repossession of my land after bridging loan contract was breached by the lender after providing only part of the contractual funds and one of the directors who dealt with me during the whole process decided to resign as Director of the company, can he in any way avoid attending any court case or will he still have to attend to give evidence.

How far through the proceedings did the loan fail, is the land actually your property?
