Hi All,
We are leaseholders of a flat. The lease has 65 years remaining. We have now asked the landlord how much they would require to extend the property lease. Their managing agents have said that they will charge a £420 to do a valuation portfolio whereby the landlord would be able to make a more informed decision. This said, it has been around 20 months ago that the neigbours downstairs renewed their lease for approximately 20k.
QUESTION: 1) Is the landlord permitted to charge us for his representing agents to carry out such a valuation? 2) Is it possible for us to request alterations to the conditions of the original lease on renewal? 3) Who should pay the landlord's survey/ legal fees?
Thanks in advance.
