Hi all i return here after the amazing help this site gave me last time, unfortunately life once more had thrown me a curve ball and im really stuck so here goes.
I split from my partner almost 3 years ago now, we had a mortgage together and due to violence in the relationship i left him with the house, since that time i have been renting while working with our 2 children this poses quite a financial strain on my funds as according to the benefits agency i am not entitled to housing benefit with my name still being on the mortgage for a house i no longer reside in, so my questions are a: how do i go about removing my name form the mortgage and b: is it true i am not entitled to benefits such as housing and council tax?
~I am workin self employed and am currently in £1700 worth of debt all down to rent and other household bills im really struggling trying to maintain a brave face in front of my children but i fear if i cant sort this out im going to loose my home.
