Keep on Puff,,nag nag nag nag....make sure you make a note of times, dates, who you speak to,their OFFICIAL title. Don't be fooled by the 'nice' LL,,he's in it for the cash, doesn't matter how friendly he is,he has created this problem (by default) by allowing these people to move in.He is your main target.

And ordinary people with ordinary lives who have the right to live in peace in their homes.
Whatever the set up is there it's clearly only working for those making money out of it and the people ultimately responsible for who gets housed there.

I was a landlord/lady for a while Inca, I rented out my mums place after she died because I couldn't bear to part with it, honestly not all landlords get shed loads of money, plus we had to spend out on things like insurance, testing, commission to agents etc and then when the tenants leave more often than not you have to put the place back together before you can either rent it out again or sell it, in the end we got so fed up we sold it.

Puff I'm sure you said earlier that you phoned and said that a guy had a length of pipe ?????? next time hun when you ring the coppers tell them you believe that there's a gun being weilded about, you'll soon see a response then, and of course you only 'believed' it as its dark and your eyes are not that good are they ?

                Good thinking Batwoman!!

He had a 6-7 foot scaffolders pole, he must have swiped it of the builders site on the field, and was swinging it about!

Sapph,,I'm in no way tarring all LL with the same brush hun and apologies if it came across like that.People like yourselves no doubt vetted possible tenants and made sure they were as 'acceptable' as you could before renting to them.
My point is..this LL has rented the place to either probation/bail or whatever and needs to help the neighbours sort the problem out because ultimately it's his house therefore his responsibility.

Thanks hun, I actually agree with you in someways, but I'm just thinking that maybe the landlord has let the place in good faith, and the people in charge are not 'looking after' his property like they should, and one day when he does get the place back, he'll probably have to rebuild it all to get it back into a lettable condition before getting decent people in there, I actually think that after expenses he could be out of pocket.

Tempting as that might be, I doubt that I would give such a tale to the police.

Nor would anyone who recalls the case of Harry Stanley - link

Police emergency, how can I help?
Well, there's a drunk outside my house waving a gun around!
We're sending someone right now! Can you see what sort of gun it is?
Not really. It's about 6 feet long though.
Could it be a bazooka or rocket launcher? I think we'd better send in the Army, too...

CC I know what your saying and appreciate it, but when you have nutters (for want of a better word) running riot outside your house wanting to kill each other and you know that the coppers are going to take their time, then I think that sometimes its justified.

I gotta agree with Sapph,,if I felt under threat or scared crapless I'd say The Pope was a woman if I thought it would get the cops out. Plus..with my eyesight a tube of smarties would look like an AK47 lol

(And No,,I don't think a residential area is the right place......a shack in a field should suffice)
When you see ten sheep a few cows and some rabbits hoofing it down the M6 you'll know it's happened!!!

On a serious note wouold these type of offenders not be better enrolled in a military type organisation (military discipline but no guns) and given meaningful tasks to do that are a benefit to the community and which might mitigate the cost somewhat of their keep.

Please be careful what you say to others. Your objection needs to be the behaviour not the people. I have seen plenty of people with no criminal records (or at least, apparently not) behave just as badly. You do not want to come across as narrow minded and bigoted, and it is all too easy to lose the argument because what you are saying is misunderstood. Every community and every level of society has people who have been in trouble with the law - that does not in itself make them dangerous. And nor does having no criminal record make people safe. You do not want to be branded as another of those people who are just "against it" - that won't help your cause at all. The more reasonable you come across, and the more factual your complaints, the more likely they are to do something about it.

(Wot it was,,I had enough of my ex husband beating me bandy,,so walloped him, fracturing his cheekbone and rupturing his eardrum,,when he got up I ended up in hospital but was worth it,when I was released much later he tried to press charges hence my dealings with copshop)
