    Re: Extending Leasehold

    Quick update
After receiving a letter saying " after consulting with my client I can offer you a lease extension of blah blah blah"
I phoned a couple of solicitors and was given a quote from a local one with the comment of yes I know XXXX and another one from a firm who has done good work for my Mum and Dad's estate.
have gone with the ones we know but now the surveyor is charging another £200 for his role in negotiating the terms, bloody ****er. The freeholders said we had to talk to him
Spoke to our solicitor who has said yes we could challenge the £200 but in the long run it may not be worth it.

I think once it is all done a complaint to someone is in order but I don't know who to. I have an email saying we would have to pay legal costs and the valuation

    Any thoughts

      Re: Extending Leasehold

Finally after months of waiting there is a completion date for next week, forms signed, money transfered all done. Thank god

Must say no one has come up smelling of roses here, their solicitor was late in replying, our solicitor asking us for Natwest mortgage details even though they already had the Nationwide details (well they do both begin with a N ) then Nationwide took weeks to accept the variation of the lease
