  • ground rent

I'm due to complete on a remortgage. As the property is leasehold the solicitor has asked for the last receipt for my ground rent. I used to pay this to the next door neighbour who collected it twice a year and sent it off, around £1.30. She died 6 years ago and the property was bought and renterd out. Since then no one has asked me for any ground rent and to be honest as i do not live at the house, it's rented out I forgot all about it. could this prevent the remortgage going through? If I could find out who I paid it to I would gladly pay it. On the title deeds it says:
Short particular of the lease(s) or under leases(s) under which the land is held:
    Date 22.12.1916
Term 999 years from 25.3.1879 less 1 day
    Rent As therein mentioned
    Parties (1) Mr x
    (2) Mr x

Not sure what this means, any advice most welcome thanks
