  • Capitalised arrears

I've heard that when a mortgage co capitalise arrears they are not allowed to include any charges added.

Is this true? And if so what can be done about it?

      Re: Capitalised arrears

I have to state that I have very very limited knowledge on the subject. Scoobydo may be better at answering this one. My understanding is that the charges can be added to the total amount of the mortgage but cannot be included in calculating arrears, ie if your payment is behind by £100 and the charges are 50 then they cannot state that the arrears is £150.00. Does that make sense?

That makes perfect sense thank you.
The problem is the scumbags have lumped all the charges and arrears toghether then capitalised it all
