  • Drive issues

Keeping it short had new drive may 2024 . Bricks were laid on hardcore and the white residue has stained NDNs 30 year old knackered drive .
contractor refusing to sort issue won’t even visit NDN to discuss . He has no pub liab insurance .
Prople are telling me I am responsible for the stained drive as contractor refusing to sort .
CAB have told me I am not responsible the issue is between contractor and NDN. Now people are saying CAB often give wrong info . I need to know am I responsible or not ?

On what you say you are not liable to your neighbours. The person who caused the damage is.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

If your neighbour is making claims against you, pass them to your home insurer.

But is that legal for her to claim against me or should it be the contractor ? That’s what I need to know . Theres no way I’m claiming off my insurance if I’m not liable

You cannot stop someone making a claim, even one that will not succeed. If nothing else, this is why we have courts and judges.

You have insurance to help you if claims are made against you. Insurance companies also contest weak claims.
