Bamboo starting to grow on my property

Hi, My next door neighbour had several bamboo trees that are now encroaching in my garden, as soon as I cut one down it shoots up and grows again. There are several shoots that are forming, should the council issue the owner of the house notice requiring them to take action to remedy the issue, such as removing the encroaching bamboo? My neighbours moved several weeks ago, it's now owned by a part exchange scheme company. What is the best course of action ?

Both the above plants are invasive, (running bamboo in particular), can be destructive, and can be considered a legal nuisance at common law

IMO you should write to the company that now owns the property, point out the bamboo has spread by underground roots to your property, and they should take action to kill the roots before damage is caused to your property
