Is my neighbour liable to repair my garage roof?

My neighbour knocked his garage down last month and just left the exposed middle looking like this. Totally open to the weather and will eventually just decay and ruin my side.

Should he of made sure my side was watertight after knocking his down?

Building work to stop the ingress of rain is urgent to prevent exposed timbers rotting. Have you spoken to your neighbour. If you want to do or arrange the work yourself you will need your neighbour's permission to access his property
