  • Neighbour covering windows with 2 metre fence!

    Hi all!

Hoping I can get some advice. My neighbour is placing a fence along the entire length of my house. The issue of this is that the proposed height will cover 2 small windows and half of a large windows already on this side of the house. This is a development project, so he has presented drawings to the council but omitted the fact in the drawings that it would be covering these windows. It will also be covering 3 air vents on this side of the house. The fence posts will also be driven down next to our foundations.

The council say they can do nothing despite the windows being covered by the plans and says this is a civil matter. We have approached the neighbour on this to ask him to at least leave gaps for the vents and windows; he was extremely aggressive and said he would now increase the height of the fence to the full 2 metres to "teach us a lesson".

I'm at a loss at what to do or who to contact about this. Any ideas?
