  • Neighbours lean to damaging our property

    Hi all,
so we moved into our property a few years ago in which point this summer house which is part of our garden has been in our garden for around 30 years. The neighbours have had a lean to erected which falls directly behind our summer house and they had their roof done about 14 years ago to which it seems to slant towards our summer house and we get all of their rainwater on top of our summer house which then pours in our garden causing about 4 inches of rain when it rains heavily . our summer house is now leaking and we have had several roofers out who have said that it’s mainly caused by the water getting in where they have placed their felt over our summer house and where they lean to is slanted at an angle and we get all of their rainwater this excess water has made our summer house roof and rubber wear out quicker.

We are now at a point that we can’t afford to get our summer house roof redone as it cost too much money, We are probably going to have to get this taken down. However, the problem will remain, which is that their lean to to will still be slanted into our garden and we will still get all of the rainwater. Are they supposed to have their lean to roof slanted in their direction? I would like this to be rectified, otherwise we will still have an issue with the rainwater piling into our garden without the summer house there it will then be hitting our garage and cause damp in there as well.
