Hi,
The local council served a Prohibition Order on my son's home, rendering the entire property unfit for human habitation.
This was due to the landlord/owner failing to make repairs, after having been served with an Improvement Notice.
On the reverse of the Prohibition Order, there is wording saying the Tenant may make a claim for compensation. This is for a Home Loss Payment and Disturbance Payment.
Does anyone know how this works? And how to apply? The Tenant was an Assured Shorthold Tenant, with a tenancy agreement and he had lived there 3 years.
My son left the property on the day the Prohibition Order was served. The landlord changed all the locks and the Tenant was never able to regain entry (unlawful eviction).
Thank you
