  • 3 names on house deeds

    Hi everyone.
When my Dad died, I inherited a large amount of money and decided to buy the council house that my grandparents were living in, for us all to live in until they died and then for it to be just me afterwards. All three of our names got put on the deeds but I solely paid for it. I have 2 questions: What would happen if one of them needed to go into care, would the care home want them to sell the house to pay for fees? And would the house just solely be mine once they died or would they need to write a will to leave their parts of it to me? Or is there anyway to transfer the house solely to me now?
    Thank you.

Do you know whether the 3 of you own the house as 'joint tenants' or 'tenants in common'? Did the 3 of you sign a deed of trust specifying your respective ownership shares?

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

We own it as joint tenants.

It would help if you know the approximate current market value of the house?
If a person goes into full time care and has assets over about £23k that person is expected to pay the care home fees in full.
