  • My deseased son's flat again (sorry)

We have now received this from the landlord....
They'd like £870 rent in liue of 2 months notice...?!?! How does someone who died suddenly do that?
We have the former tenancy contract which states the flat contents, all white goods and large furniture, bar a couple of small things that were there but not on the list. (Hoover, bedside cabinets)
We know they are supposed to claim for the door on their insurance, even the security bloke who did the work told us that. It doesn't need a deep clean. The place was immaculate.
So what now? Should we take them to the small claims court?

They're determined to get £400 out of us one way or another. They are responsible for the door/lock it's claimed on insurance. The flat was furnished.
SO how can they do that?
