  • Can I claim compensation for housing disrepair

Hi I posted a few days ago about housing disrepair regarding the suffering I endured for years due to a faulty installed wetroom and today I received an email from the CEO office of my housing association as I had complained directly to the CEO and her representative said to me this is now going to be done . A long winded letter saying that they had believed the installer ( the council ) were responsible and this was the reason for the disrepair not being addressed . Basically she admitted that it had caused distress and affected my medical needs apologised and said the job now being done . So years ive suffered they have ignored this until I contacted the CEO admitted in the letter that they have responsibility for repairs for installations that are outside there warranty so why they tried to say their officers tried to get the council to take ownership on a ten year Old installation is beyond me . What id like to know is can I claim for suffering etc for years gone by now its being sorted ?

Thanks any advice appreciated and for more information I posted a couple of days ago with all the details etc

Obviously it depends upon just what you are claiming for, but Yes.
