Are quotes by text legally binding?

If they are binding..if the quote is vague then I assume any details discussed verbally are irrelevant and they can just refuse to do the verbal parts without me being able to do anything about it?

Each situation is one on its own. It is just a question of the particular set of words all seen together. A text message can be more valuable because of its semi permanence.
It is the same question which always arises on attempting to prove what was said.
