Recently just moved in to an end terraced property in a little through town 8 weeks ago, complete with monoblock driveway, and pretty much everything having been renewed by previous owner, our initial thoughts of our neighbours were they don't seem like our kind of people, very rough and loud, house not very well kept, but they were pleasant to speak to and that was great, we're not the most social of people, so interactions would be few and far between anyway, we were told by our solicitor that the neighbours only have access rights for essential maintenance and to move their bins in and out, when we moved in we discovered they were keeping their bins in our garden which we thought was a bit odd but never said anything as the weeks have went past we have seen countless strangers go past our kitchen window to access the rear conservatory through the gate in our garden, when their property is not landlocked, we have two very young children and they have a big pit bull type dog, we opened the door yesterday and was met with it on our back doorstep, we politely asked if you could possibly use your front entrance when the dog is out for the safety of our kids, which they took grave offence to stating they have lived there 25 year and we've been here 2mins, but we have heard from a woman on the other block that's lived here all her days that this is the 10th new owner in this house in under 8 years, and most have left due to them being a neusance, they sit in there conservatory 24/7 smoking weed which comes through the walls leaving a smell in our house, we posted a copy of our title deeds to our understanding state the basis on which access is allowed, and we got told to f**k off and we will continue to do what we want, and they told us to get the car off our driveway as its not a permitted driveway and if its not moved for their access its going to get "done in" and that their son is in the police and will have us dealt with. Our home report states 1 car driveway in our purchase.. We called the police who were not interested in the slightest as its a neighbourly despute and that threat was not to cause harm to a person, which I have doubts about, since this argument happened they have used the rear access as their sole access for their property and stare right in our windows as they pass, we are wondering what our rights are to get this stopped for our kids safety and our own sanity as we want to just put the house right back on the market now, so much stress

What you need to do is keep a diary of events, date, what was said etc. Also maybe security CCTV etc would be a good idea. You could get a court injunction if matters escalate. The council could also intervene. You just want them to be good neighbors, not best 'buddies'.
