My neighbour has started a house renovation in the past month. We are semi-detached with them. No notification was given. The y erected original scaffold overlapping our property and we asked if it could be cut back as we were having a conservatory wall built within our boundary but might affect their scaffold. They said they would cut it back and remove any poles overlapping to our property. We went away on holiday for a week and come back to find nothing had been done but the scaffolding had gone higher and a pole was now overlapping and resting onto our flat roof. Their tarpaulin has also come away and debris fallen onto our front slated roof and back flat roof. We have only been living here for 6 months so don’t want to get into any legal argument if necessary. The builders have advised the work will be ongoing for several months and is purely a rebuild project. Our conservatory is due to be built by end September early October. Just wondering what my legal rights are before I take anything further. The neighbours have moved out while their renovation project is in progress so unable to speak with them face to face. Would have been nice to know what was happening as this may have avoided a stressful situation. All feedback welcome- hope I’ve explained this properly.

An awkward scenario to say the least.
Presumably the builders have a means of contacting your neighbours.
So when you tell the builders to remove their scaffolding within x number of days (or by mid September if you're feeling generous) or you will have to consider obtaining a court injunction, ask them for their contact details.
You will then be able to discuss the matter on a friendly basis with your neighbours.
