Hi All
I'm after some advice, please.
I am the Landlord of a Property and my Tenant has been in touch to advise that the neighbour next door has a domestic CCTV camera system installed that points directly to the bathroom window. The Tenant has an 8 year old daughter.
I wrote to the neighbour, asking him to move the lens of the camera away from my Property in its entirety. I have had a response and they attached an image to the email - it is attached to this conversation. They have said that they will not move the lens.
As you can clearly see, the neighbour has angled it directly towards my property. He is also capturing the driveway and the main road. He has used black squares to block out the windows to my property but I'm unsure on whether he has simply done this for the purpose of the picture and can simply override this feature?
We have had problems with the neighbour when I was living there (long story) and we didn't really speak or get on.
I have re-wrote to him asking him to remove the camera - even if he angles it to the right to capture his own property, all he will see is the wall. I've reminded him that because he is angling the camera towards my property, he has to comply with GDPR and DPA and therefore I've submitted a Subject Access Request to him too. I've politely stated that failure to remove the camera may result in legal action being taken against him.
Please can someone provide me with some advice/thoughts here?
Many thanks!
