In 2007 my first wife died. She jointly owned some land with her two brothers. I was executor of her will, but everything she owned was bequeathed to me, without exception. I have found out that two years after her death, one of the brothers has managed to get her name removed from the land title deeds at the Land Registry so that the two of them have 50% each. I thought that I would inherit my deceased wife's third share. As executor of her will I was never consulted about ownership of the land by either brother. Do I have a case for claiming a third share of the land?

It will depend on how the land was owned.
If it was held as "tenants in common" you could have transferred her share to your name when settling her estate. Although not done then, it could be transferred now.
If the land was held as "joint tenants" ownership would pass automatically to the two brothers by right of survivorship, and all they would need to do was advise LR and produce a copy of the death certificate
