  • Neighbours car port leaking on my wall

I moved into my house 3 years ago. To the left of my property looking at it from the road is the neighbours driveway. They have attached gates i between our houses. Then a carport has been put there which attached to both our houses by wooden battons. The car port leaks through the battons and making the side of our house extremely wet. The car port has been there for around 15-20 years at least. At the end of the car port is a garage without doors. So if they removed the car port roof then rainwater will just flow down their driveway straight into the garage. There is no drainage of any kind.

They are now selling their house and we are trying to come to an agreement with the neighbours to sort this out. That said they will remove the polycarbonate roof but then there will be the problem of no drainage and no garage doors.

Shall I just get them to remove the roof and let them worry about the drainage problem themselves? Obviously this dampness needs to rectified ASAP.

They said they will remove the poly roof but would like to leave the gates and little wood but above there.
