How do i check an owner's mortgage vs equity in his house

Someone owes me a 5 figure sum. There is no dispute over the debt but they claim to have no money to pay it. I have seen from Land Reg. records they own their own home and have done so for ten years. Is there a way i can establish how much mortgage/equity then have?

no* * but have you taken them to court & and won a case against them?* if so a charging order application? if alledged debt over certain figure? you will not get the court to make them sale property if that is what you were thinking?
