  • Rent refund -small claims court?

    Hi All!

Just looking for a bit of reaffirmation that I would have a case?

I moved in with a chap with a license to occupy in January, the agreement states a month notice to be given by either party with no minimum term. On 04/03 he gives me notice to leave on 26/03 IE not a full month. On 17th I asked whether he’d refund the rent from 27/03-31/03 which comes to £90 so an amount of money definitely worth asking for!! He agreed, but also stated that if I wanted to stay until 05/04 I could do - by which point I’d already made plans to leave so this wouldn’t be any good to me.

Fast forward to today, he’s repaid my deposit but not repaid the rent and has made clear he won’t do so.

to add to this, he’s vacating the flat on the 5th - so if I process a claim through MCOL I’d be trusting he will setup postal forwarding. I asked him for his new address, but he hasn’t provided me with it

given the timescale I’d appreciate quick replies if poss so I can get the claim processed

    thanks in advance!
