Hi, I'm a student who have rented a room in a big house, before signing contract, my landlord promised me that other rooms will be let to students in text, not in contract. However, he eventually let some rooms to professional people. Is this a breach of contract and can I do something about it? Thanks
Does text have legal effect?

In my view, the notion that you, renting one room, are entitled to dictate to your landlord the status of who else might choose to rent a room, is both arrogant and stupid.
if the status of the other occupants of the building troubles you, you have two choices, rent the entire building, or move out.
