    Hi there,
Wanted to begin by apologising if this is the wrong area, couldn't find it.

So, a couple of weeks ago some building developments (Class Q Conversion of Agricultural Buildings) started nearly opposite us. Today, I came back to traffic lights on either side of the drive along the road, means when coming out of the drive it is very dangerous, and no alternatives or communication of any kind. What makes things worse is that I had no notice (intact never even spoken to the developers). I was wondering if anyone knew if this was legal, to put traffic on a public highway with no warning or notice in advance.

    Thanks.

The contractor should have agreed with the Local Highway Authority regarding the installation of the traffic control.
I would suggest an initial call to the authority to discuss your concerns.

Temporary traffic management order should be in place I think. (TMO)

Yep; made under The Local Authorities Traffic Orders(procedures) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996
