  • Buying a property which in not registered at land Registry

Hi, my step daughter is looking to buy their first house, solicitor just advised them the property is not registered and it could take 6 months to register. They need to vacate their rental property in about 4 weeks (landlord gave notice)

    Mortgage offer issued via Halifax.

can indemnity insurance cover this and allow to proceed post haste?

    Any other suggestions?

    many thanks

Normally takes 10/12 weeks to register property
Did the solicitor explain why there should be such a long delay?
    Are the original deeds missing?

In answer to your question an indemnity insurance should cover any defect in title.
