Hello,
I own a maisonette in a house converted a few years ago. The planning permission clearly indicates that a sound insulation test must be conducted prior to issuing a building control certificate.
There are good reasons to believe that the flats did not pass such test, and that the certificate was issued without meeting the requirement.
The building control company has been giving me the runaround when I asked to see the noise insulation certificate. I've sent them a strongly worded letter giving the a deadline for providing it, otherwise I will take this with the council as well as claim my damages from them.
Can you please advise if they actually have a liability here if I can prove that the sound insulation is insufficient and they are not able to provide a test certificate?
Many thanks!
