  • Housing Association Refund

    Hello everyone,

I have a query around whether it is reasonable to claim an amount of interest on money owing from a housing association.

In September 2008 I applied for a Open Market Home Buy Scheme mortgage, got it with Swaythlings Housing (Radian), in 2015 I bought it out following a remortgage.

It seems that an official body has held that the amount of interest I paid towards it throughout that time should be refunded due to them not complying correctly on the agreement and in the Annual Statements - however, I only know this because of contact I received on Linked In.

I have remained to live at the address held on their files throughout and therefore a simply letter would have reached me telling me that the money was owing to me or to make contact with them with no reference to money. They attempted to e-mail me twice in 2016 but to an old e-mail address so I didn’t receive it, they admit they made no further contact with me.

Is it reasonable to claim interest applying on the amount from 2015 to 2019?
