  • Local Government Procurement transparency

Could anybody advise whether a local authority can refuse to make public the winning price from a competitive pricing exercise? Most LA's that we put prices in to are happy to let us know the winning price if we are unsuccessful, and with larger tenders above certain procurement thresholds this is the norm, but we have one client that regularly refuses to let us know the winning price if we are unsuccessful. I thought about submitting a Freedom of Information request, but dont want to rock the boat with them too much until i have more evidence of whether they can legally withold this information from us. We are talking low value (sub £15,000) jobs where we are sent an email and asked to submit a price for certain pieces of work. Any pointers much appreciated!

Ask ICO directly. They are usually very helpful.
