  • Directions Questionnaire/General Sanctions Order

I submitted a claim on MCOL. The Defendant has filed a defence. We both got directions questionnaires. I filed mine immediately using ccbc@justice.gov.uk and ccaq@justice.gove.uk and got email acknowledgement from them both. I noticed yesterday on MCOL that there was a general sanctions order. I emailed the court I got this response.

Having not filed your directions questionnaire you have until 13th December to do so or your claim will be struck out. Now having filed by DQ on 1st November I then replied to them with the attachment of the directions questionnaire and their automated response. I cannot get hold of them by phone. Does anyone know what will happen now.

Managed to get through to CCML. It seems the email they sent was incorrect. In fact it is the Defendant who has not filed the directions questionnaire not me. Nothing like putting me in an early grave.

I have just read this all. That's a relief.

And a reminder that court staff are not immune from error.
