  • Multi-Track Proposed Directions?

I am claimant suing former employer for loss of earnings, defamation and aggravated damages. We have both submitted documents including defence and defence response statements. I have completed Directions Questionnaire but it says I also need to attempt to agree directions and file proposed directions. What does this mean? What am I supposed to do? Where do I find a template? Thanks.

The title of your thread is 'Multi-Track Proposed Directions' but who is proposing them?

Claims that include alleged defamation will normally go to the Multi-Track which defines the type of court procedure the case will be run under. Technically there is an exception that if both parties agree in writing a defamation claim can be started in the county court but the court invariably transfer it to the Multi-Track.

You want to avoid the Multi-Track at all costs as the procedures are horrendously complicated (you couldn't hope to navigate them without legal representation) and expensive. The hearing hearing fee alone is £1090.

I don't know the details of your issue but maybe you should drop the defamation element and go to an Employment Tribunal.
