I have put an application for set-aside. However, I note in some places it says relief from sanctions. What does 'relief from sanctions' mean?

The application form used to set aside a default judgment is N244 and there is no reference to relief from sanctions.

Then if the Claimant fails to comply he faces a sanction, in the above case he cannot rely on evidence. He would therefore need relief from sanctions under CPR 3.9.
