I have yesterday received a letter from my local authority alleging that I was witnessed to drop a cigarette butt out of my car window. I have emailed asking for video/photo evidence and any statement from the witness (a council employee)! When I spoke to the person at the local authority he confirmed there was NO video/photo evidence and all they had was a witness statement. Any idea where I stand on this matter?
Then tonight I was leaving a local community club and the same authority had a van driving past and 'flashed' me then pulled over. I did have a cigarette but did not drop it out of the window - I had only just started it. I have emailed myself with the location and time and what I did to give me a defence should I receive a letter about tonight's incident.
Moral of the story - pack the fags in! (I have been to the local stop smoking service today to start that)!
