My daughter left a shop with an item of nail polish unpaid for and was caught. They made her go back and pay for it, quite rightly so. But she is worried now what will happen. They made her feel awful and told her she was banned from the store which will help her learn the lesson. They didn't take her name, details or report it to the police but she did go back and paid for it with her debit card.
We have discussed at length that this is wrong and her reasons (she's going through CBT for depression at the moment). I am glad she is feeling ashamed and shows signs of remorse but want to find out if anything will come of this formally so I can support her and put her mind at rest. Please can anyone advise if there is likely to be any reprecussion from the store/law?
