  • Complain about a solicitor who isn't acting for you

    Hi.
A neighbour who is a solicitor has made false allegations about my family to the police and lied in his statement to them.
The police don't believe him and are taking NFA but said there is an official body I could complain about him to but because they have to be impartial they can't tell me the name of the body.
Could anyone please point me in the right direction and advise me is it worth taking this course of action and what might be the outcome if I did?
    Many thanks.
    David.

I imagine the police are referring to the Solicitors Regulation Authority. http://www.sra.org.uk

However all you will be doing is making unsubstantiated allegations, and I doubt the authority will take any action.
Unlikely it will resolve your problems.
In fact, as he will know he is getting under your skin, he might redouble his efforts.
It is probably more satisfactory to ensure he sees you get along well with your other neighbours, and that his behaviour is not disturbing you
