Hi,
I have been asked/told by the Police that i need to attend the Police station for a voluntary interview, under caution for criminal damage.
The allegation made against me is by my neighbors whom have a restraining order against them for harassment against me and my family.
The allegation is that i caused criminal damage by damaging a 4x2 timber 'post' which had been stuck in the ground in a position which obstructed and restricted my right of way to my land. My right of way is over and along my neighbors driveway and this is where the post was inserted into the ground. The timber snapped when i moved it as it had been driven into the ground by a few feet.
The said post was, as far as i'm concerned, put there in order to obstruct me and provoke me and a continuation of my neighbors harassment against me.
It seems rather petty that im being asked to go in for an interview at the Police station. It took me 8 months of evidence gathering my neighbors harassing me to get them to Police interview stage...so im at a loss as to why im being summonsed for interview for said criminal damage to a bit of 4x2 timber post. It seems rather unfair and unbalance given the history with my neighbor.
Im presuming the reason is to show impartiality by the Police...but any thoughts or advice as to what to say in the interview will be gratefully received.
From my pov I want to flip this allegation on its head and use it as a breach of my neighbors restraining order.
