Re: handwriting expert needed any advice
hello Des.
things haven't moved much. Ive lodged a caveat and hes not sent a letter asking why or wanting to negotiate. I'm guessing hes just waiting for it to run out. I'm not using a solicitor yet as they want 50%. ive obtained a signature of my Dads from about the same year as the will. to me it looks different, but I'm no expert.
I was also considering writing to him to see if we can come to a mutually agreeable settlement over the property, but didn't want to do that if the signature is iffy. the other problem is even if I agree a settlement, assuming the signature isn't a route that is usable, I have ownership of the house and he has a will at the probate office. I can therefore see a situation where I sell the house give him the agreed amount then he gets probate and claims my part of the settlement back off me.
