  • Advice on shoplifting charge Scotland

I am so ashamed to say it but a week ago I was caught shoplifting. It was a very small amount, but the police were called and took my details. It all passed so quickly as I was in such a daze, and I didn't take it all in. They tried to reassure me that I t wouldn't be too serious, the details would be sent to the procurator fiscal here and they would write to me with their decision. I have been ill with worry ever since. I have spoken to 3 solicitors who have assured me that no one needs to know about this, it's the only time I've ever had any dealings with the police, and I would be ashamed if my friends and family were to find out. They also told me that I just need to wait and see. My questions are will I ever find a job again, I'm in a temporary contract at the moment. Also will this stop me from travelling abroad? I will certainly never be doing anything like this again as it has changed me and I feel I will never be the person I was. Any advice would be so grateful.

Re: Advice on shoplifting charge Scotland

    Hi and welcome

Mostly on this forum we deal with England and Wales .... just don't get many inquiries about Scottish law.
However you might get some advice from this thread;http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...on-shoplifting

Were you planning on going to any particular country? The admittance criteria vary .
