Can anyone here advise me? I am a pensioner retired and live in the Philippines. I have good life here living on just a state pension. DWP pay my pension to Citibank who inturn pay to my bank here in the Philippines, now here is the problem every Christmas for the last two years my December payment never arrives until 6th January, so I am left with no money for the holiday. DWP issue my pension to Citibank on the 15th December, so what right do these banks have to hold my money this length of time? I phone DWP and spoke to a supervisor, they just say basially its hard luck, nothing we can do about it. Any ideas anyone?

How long does it normally take? Don't forget the long holidays for Christmas and new year. I would be tempted to start with your bank in the Philippines.

DWP closes down until 2nd January usually, be honest if you have experience of the situation then surely you are in the knowledge of the fact, take it you get paid monthly?


try DWP website see what they state regarding payments over holiday period,

As I said in my post I spoke on the phone to DWP, pension was issued 15th December, and there is no problem with my bank here. The problem is with Citibank.

Citibank hand the sterling to your bank who then have to go through the exchange process before they put it into your account. Either could be causing the delay.
